Football and Women

Does football and women make a good combo together? Hmm.. It's very hard to say BUT it depends on situation I think. Personally if a girl is interested about football, it's a turn on. I'd be glad if my GF is interested in football or even join me to watch a game or watch me play futsal. Hehe..

Here's the thing, last Saturday I watched Liverpool's match (yeah I can't believe it either) against Wolves. I was surprised to see the Assistant Referee lined up for the clash was a woman. Sian Massey lined up with the big boys and I knew she'd be put under the microscope for all her decision making that day. Fans from all over the world will definitely critisize her if one mistake was made. At the end of the game, I thought she did a tremendous job officiating the line. She made good calls and she had a very good game indeed, especially where she was spot on when Liverpool scored the first goal. Raul Mereiles was DEFINITELY on-side when Poulsen made the through ball to him. I'd give her full marks on that.

*Sian Massey in action during the match*

Everything went fine til yesterday. It was all over in the UK that 2 very senior TV pundits for Sky Sports, Andy Gray and Richard Keys made sexism comments on the Assistant Referee. This is how it happened:

A pitchside reporter tells Gray, "Apparently, a female lino today, bit of a looker, according to Steve the cameraman". Pulling a disgusted face Gray says, "A female linesman?" The reporter replies, "He says she's alright. Now I don't know if I should trust his judgment on that". Gray replied, "Nah, I wouldn't. Definitely wouldn't".

Later, not realizing they were being recorded, Gray and Keys gaffed again claiming that she "doesn't know the offside rule" with Keys adding "I can guarantee you there'll be a big one today. Kenny Dalglish will go potty".

Both are senior pundits and have tons of experience in the football world. They should know that it's wrong to critisize they way they did. The English FA started the Respect campaign and it's their own breed that's damaging the campaign. Bravo to them. Since then, the two have been given a disciplinary action by the Sky Sports MD. They were both taken off from Chelsea vs Bolton match. Since then, it has been reported that Keys personally rang up Sian Massey and apologize for his rant. Come on Gray. It's your turn!!!

PowerSkill Annual Dinner 2011

My company held its Annual Dinner last friday at Rama V, Jalan U Thant, KL. I've never been there so I was hoping they serve real good food. I'm a very particular person when it comes to food. If I'm paying a large sum of money for the foods, I expect it to be real good with top notch service. In this case, I wasn't the one paying. Hehe.. Although it's our Big Boss who's paying, we still expect good food. Indeed it was. We all ate like nobody's business and had lotsa fun talking, laughing and taking pictures. After that, my colleagues headed to Skybar, Traders Hotel, KL but I didn't join 'em as I had futsal plans in PJ. Can't get enough of football. Haha..

SS2 Murni

I have this thing about food. My ultimate dream stuff myself til I'm full, and can't even stand or walk so I'd just sittin' down on the chair or couch, lazying around. That would be great, wouldn't it?? Haha.. I only achieved the so called ultimate dream when I had dinner with my old skool friends at Chilis KLCC a few years back. There were laughter, gossip and practically bashing people up.

So, last week I went to SS2 Murni during the Thaipusam eve for some great meal. I haven't been there for a few years. Went there with my buddies (Kapal & Ikeen, Rizal & Raff, Fashah and Fadh) and Jalan Eaton family (Kak Nana, Man & Ieja. I can honestly say, it was a great meal indeed. As expected, it was really packed!!! Haven't been there for years. New workers but same quality of foods. Terbaiiiikkkkkk!!!

Didn't manage to take plenty of photos cause we were cramming oursleves on our table. So here are some of 'em. Enjoy..

*Nasi Goreng Napoleon*

*Rizal & Rafeeza had Loh See Fun & Pink Panther*

The food is awesome (as always). Drinks were totally off the hook. Service was good too. I wonder how much they're making per month. Thousands or even hundred of thousands?? Perhaps. They've already had a few branches all over KL & Selangor area (cross fingers they'd open one in Ampang). I'm gonna be fatter soon if I keep going there IF they open an Ampang branch. Haha.. For those who haven't been here, you gotta come here and experience the foods youselves. Tremendous!!!

Next Gen Planes

Get ready for the next generation of passenger airplanes. Here's a look at the Next Gen airplanes. I came across this article and thought I'd share with u folks. Read on and have a look at these photos. Amazing..

NASA has taken the wraps off three concept designs for quiet, energy efficient aircraft that could potentially be ready to fly as soon as 2025. The designs come from Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and The Boeing Company. In the final months of 2010, each of these companies won a contract from NASA to research and test their concepts during 2011.Apparently, NASA is aiming to develop a line of super-planes that larger, faster, quieter, and that burn fuel slower and cleaner than their present counterparts. Check out the three concept planes..

Great Tips!!!

Hi folks. It's been awhile yeah??? Been so busy lately with work and more work til I'm unable to write or add anything new to this blog. Do not worry, hope everything goes well and I can soon upload some photos of the football jerseys that I'm gonna sell. Just waiting to finalized the pricing which I need to consult my brother. Haha..

Oh well, I found this great article in Yahoo! somewhere around last week about device issues. Thought of highlighting it to all of you.

Touchscreen phones that won't work when you have gloves on
The capacitive touch displays on the latest and greatest Android and iOS handsets are tops when it comes to tapping out messages with a light touch. Winter gloves, however, will block the electrical charge from your fingertips that capacitive screens use to register a tap — bad news if you're trying to answer a call in a blizzard.

Solution: Cut a tiny slit in your wool gloves (assuming you don't mind slicing up your winter wear) to allow a finger to pop out whenever you need to start tapping. Okay, this is applicable to countries that has 4 seasons. Unless you think Malaysia has those 4 seasons too and would love to wear some gloves too. Hehe..

Wet Gadgets
Gadgets and water rarely mix. Or rather don't mix at all. I bet most of us have experienced it before. I can honestly say, it wasn't a good experience. Heh..

Solution: Before you give up hope, try dropping your soaked gear into a Tupperware container full of rice to draw out the moisture. Or, as a general preventative measure to keep moisture away, save some silica gel packs (you know, the ones you'll find in boxes of new shoes or beef-jerky packages) and stuff them in your cell phone or camera case.

Scratch DVDs and CDs
There's nothing quite as annoying as a skipping music CD or a DVD that randomly jumps seconds or minutes ahead, without warning. In some cases, you might be dealing with a dirty laser in your CD or DVD deck; more often, however, the culprit is a scratched disc.

The good news is that it is possible to repair scratches in the polycarbonate plastic coating that protects the underlying layer of data on a DVD or CD, as long as the scratch isn't too deep.

Solution: Polish the scratches with a little furniture cleaner, perhaps with a follow-up dose of car polish. Just be sure to start from the center of the disc and rub outward, in a straight line; whatever you do, don't rub in circles.

Indonesia Welcomes Blackberry Pledge

Hi folks. It's been awhile right? Yeah, I wasn't feeling well lately. Still haven't recover by the way. How was your weekend? Mine was just more towards resting and chilling at home. Hopefully I can recover real soon.

I read an article in the papers and the net regarding Indonesia planning to revoke Research In Motion (RIM) aka Blackberry provider's license unless they comply to the government ruling on filtering pornography in their country. I gotta say, in Indonesia, BB is everywhere!!! Whether it be kids or adults, they're so into BB's. Sorry iPhone users. You're not in the league of BB in Indonesia at all. It'll be weird if there's an iPhone user there. On Tuesday, RIM agreed to filter its web services for pornography. A move which is good for the country as it is one of Asia's fastest growing telecommunication markets in the world.

Speaking of which, I can't wait to go to Bandung on 28th January!!! It's just.. err.. 16 more days to go!!! Woohoo!!!

2011 Company New Year Lunch

It's the New Year and I'm not feeling too good already. Been having a cold and sore throat since yesterday but I still manage to come to office (tunjuk baik je ni..hehe).

Anyway, I come to the office today rather than taking sick leave was cause we're having our New Year Lunch. Huhu.. Our Big Boss, Mr Yap, had earlier announced that our Country Manager is leaving us at the end of March. I can honestly say, he's helped me a lot in this search industry and he's making tons of money I tell ya!!!

We went to Pavilion's Kampachi Japanese Restaurant for lunch. I'm not a fan of Japanese food normally but since it was the boss who's paying, why not right??? Hehe.. Oh well, I ordered Yaki Niku (I think) with Ebi Tempura Rice set.

Well, the food is ok. I still prefer Sushi Zan Mai or Sushi King cause of its simplicity but good food. Ambience is ok too. Presentation was good. Service was bad and slow. Price is quite expensive too by the way. You can get the food at a much better price at a much better place. Overall, I'd give it a 6.5/10.
Will I come here again? NO (except somebody is buying). Hahaha..

iPhone Alarm Glitch

iPhone users were dealt with a huge blow a few days back as their alarms didn't sound off, causes many to oversleep. Apparently it was the second time in in just a few months that the alarm function fail to activate correctly. What more excuses can the CEO offer to consumers? First it was with the signal issue. Than he started comparing to other phones which I think just made a fool out of himself. I know that my opinion is more towards Blackberry as I'm currently using one.

The fact that there's plenty of uncovered grounds by Apple just makes people lose belief in the product. Let's be real. Do you want to buy a product that has a lot of issues? Their trying to be different but they left a whole lot of holes uncovered. To me, bad idea folks.
The war between iPhone & Blackberry rages on. Hahaha..

Bandung 2011

Welcome 2011!!! A very happy new year and hoping the very best to all. A very special Happy 10th Anniversary to my sis, Kak Nana. A decade in CIMB today. Congrats!!!

The countdown has begun!!! Trip to Bandung, Indonesia is just around the corner. Another 25 days and counting. It's that time of the year where Me & my Jalan Eaton family take a flight to Indonesia for a few days off to visit our Bandung family. I just can't wait to see them again and just chilling around in Bandung. Not forgetting the lovely "sight" too.. Hehehe.. It was a great trip back in 2010. We spent 8 memorable days there. Ten of us made the trip.
It was just A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

This time around, it'll just be 5 days & 4 nights and just 8 of us. Not gonna do much shopping. Just want to relax my mind off work and enjoy the breezy weather there. Here's a glimpse of the great memories of Bandung 2010. I know my Jalan Eaton family can't wait to get there end of this month. Huhu..
