Man of Steel Red Carpet

Hey folks, check out the Red Carpet Premiere Interview Special for Man of Steel!

Man of Steel TV Spots

Hey folks, here are some tv spots for the Man of Steel. In case you missed it. Enjoy!

Man of Steel Reviews

I was very skeptical when it was announced Zack Snyder would helm the new Superman movie. I'm not a huge fan of his mostly CGI movies. 300 and Sucker Punch to name a few. But when it was also announced that Christoper Nolan would be the Executive Producer to the man from Krypton, it gave me chills. After the success of the Dark Knight trilogy, I was really anticipating the outcome of Man of Steel. And yeah, when the first trailer was out, it had Nolan's touch written all over it. Man of Steel opens in Malaysia tomorrow. Read the scoop of the movie below for the first batch of reviews.

The Hollywood Reporter
To the oft-asked question of whether or not the world is really starving for yet another superhero origin story, Man of Steel simply responds by serving up what could be as much spectacle and action — minute-by-minute, frame-by-frame — as any movie anyone could think of. Zack Snyder’s huge, backstory-heavy extravaganza is a rehab job that perhaps didn’t cry out to be done but proves so overwhelmingly insistent in its size and strength that it’s hard not to give in. Warner Bros.’ new tentpole should remain firmly planted around the world for much of the summer.

Super Hero Hype
Man of Steel is great. It takes stories that we all thought we knew and looks at them through a different prism, creating a solid superhero story that stands apart from all of the others. Though the acting is solid all around, many of the characters don't naturally fit in, but when the film offers amazing fights and comic book levels of destruction, most fans won't mind that at all.

ScreenCrush
‘Man of Steel’ isn’t perfect. There’s an emotional beat that is supposed to have resonance, but you’ll probably be thinking, “who’s she?” (The answer, undoubtedly, is “someone whose earlier scenes got cut out.”) There’s also a dopey decision that a character makes, a beat that only an actor of Kevin Costner‘s quality can save. Also, the world-building in ‘Man of Steel’ is so good that the movie lends itself to some hardcore nitpicking of a “how did they know English?” variety. But when your scrutiny has to go that deep, you know you have a solid blockbuster on your hands.

Crave Online
Man of Steel is a movie we need right now, and while normally such blanket statements refer to films of great portent or contemporary significance, I’m not convinced that Man of Steel is either of those things, not really. It’s a remarkable piece of popcorn entertainment with a few lofty issues on its mind that are simply expressed beautifully throughout the film. It’s an impressive retelling of a story that is generations old, and that somehow feels fresh here, without sacrificing the greatness that began with Action Comics #1. It could, to use the common parlance, be referred to as “awesome.” But awesome no longer means “awesome.” Awesome means “strikingly cool.” Man of Steel is awesome in that it inspires a sense of genuine awe. That, dear readers, is something of value by its lonesome.

Digital Spy UK
Man of Steel is not quite the perfect movie. Snyder's deployment of handheld camerawork works to create an intimacy between viewer and action, but this aesthetic jars horrendously with the 3D conversion (see in 2D if you can). Character loses focus in favor of action in the final third and there are also shades of Clark's character that go unexplored (for instance his split identity and deeper relationship with Lois). These threads are left tantalisingly open for a sequel, though. The foundations are firmly in place for what could be exciting further adventures of Superman.

Ain't It Cool News
MAN OF STEEL is the Superman movie we have been waiting for. Full of action, emotion, and spectacle, this is Zack Snyder’s finest work so far, and I prefer David Goyer’s work here to his work on Nolan’s Batman films. This was the harder job, by far – to make Superman relevant again, and to give him life beyond the page. It is true to the comics, to the films, to everything we love about this character. When I dreamed of heroes as a child, dreamed of taking flight, I saw this movie in my mind’s eye. Zack Snyder has pulled from the dreams of millions of fans, and brought us something to cheer for. MAN OF STEEL soars on the winds of those visions. I imagine fans will lose their damn minds over this movie, and deservedly so. What the future holds for DC on film, I cannot know, but MAN OF STEEL lays the foundations for something quite extraordinary. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

SlashFilm
Yes, folks, Man of Steel delivers. It’s a phenomenal film and an even better set up for what we hope is a huge, DC Universe.

Movies.com
Man of Steel has a whole ton of pride, as do both its heroes and villains. Pride in where they came from and how its shaped them. The film is very much about what it means to be home and feel home, and even though it's about an alien man who flies through the air shooting lasers out of his eyes, there's nothing you won't be able to relate to in this.

The action is also pretty boss and fairly frequent (the Smallville sequence alone is loud and meaty), and there are some moments that are easily comparable to the best stuff from any recent superhero movie (including The Avengers). But where Man of Steel really succeeds is in its power to connect, emotionally and spiritually, with its audience. That's a rare trait for a giant movie like this with an incredible amount riding on its sucess, but that's what also makes it the best Superman movie to date.

Disney Buys LucasFilm

After acquiring Marvel for $4 billion, the news has broken that Disney are set to pay almost the exact same amount for LucasFilm, ushering in a new era of Star Wars movies, starting with "Episode 7" in 2015.

Continuing its strategy of delivering exceptional creative content to audiences around the world, The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Lucasfilm Ltd. in a stock and cash transaction. Lucasfilm is 100% owned by Lucasfilm Chairman and Founder, George Lucas. Under the terms of the agreement and based on the closing price of Disney stock on October 26, 2012, the transaction value is $4.05 billion, with Disney paying approximately half of the consideration in cash and issuing approximately 40 million shares at closing. The final consideration will be subject to customary post-closing balance sheet adjustments.

"Lucasfilm reflects the extraordinary passion, vision, and storytelling of its founder, George Lucas," said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "This transaction combines a world-class portfolio of content including Star Wars, one of the greatest family entertainment franchises of all time, with Disney's unique and unparalleled creativity across multiple platforms, businesses, and markets to generate sustained growth and drive significant long-term value."

"For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next," said George Lucas, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lucasfilm. "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney's reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products."

Under the deal, Disney will acquire ownership of Lucasfilm, a leader in entertainment, innovation and technology, including its massively popular and "evergreen" Star Wars franchise and its operating businesses in live action film production, consumer products, animation, visual effects, and audio post production. Disney will also acquire the substantial portfolio of cutting-edge entertainment technologies that have kept audiences enthralled for many years. Lucasfilm, headquartered in San Francisco, operates under the names Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts, Industrial Light & Magic, and Skywalker Sound, and the present intent is for Lucasfilm employees to remain in their current locations.

Kathleen Kennedy, current Co-Chairman of Lucasfilm, will become President of Lucasfilm, reporting to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. Additionally she will serve as the brand manager for Star Wars, working directly with Disney's global lines of business to build, further integrate, and maximize the value of this global franchise. Ms. Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.

The acquisition combines two highly compatible family entertainment brands, and strengthens the long-standing beneficial relationship between them that already includes successful integration of Star Wars content into Disney theme parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Paris and Tokyo.

Driven by a tremendously talented creative team, Lucasfilm's legendary Star Wars franchise has flourished for more than 35 years, and offers a virtually limitless universe of characters and stories to drive continued feature film releases and franchise growth over the long term. Star Wars resonates with consumers around the world and creates extensive opportunities for Disney to deliver the content across its diverse portfolio of businesses including movies, television, consumer products, games and theme parks. Star Wars feature films have earned a total of $4.4 billion in global box to date, and continued global demand has made Star Wars one of the world's top product brands, and Lucasfilm a leading product licensor in the United States in 2011. The franchise provides a sustainable source of high quality, branded content with global appeal and is well suited for new business models including digital platforms, putting the acquisition in strong alignment with Disney's strategic priorities for continued long-term growth.

The Lucasfilm acquisition follows Disney's very successful acquisitions of Pixar and Marvel, which demonstrated the company's unique ability to fully develop and expand the financial potential of high quality creative content with compelling characters and storytelling through the application of innovative technology and multiplatform distribution on a truly global basis to create maximum value. Adding Lucasfilm to Disney's portfolio of world class brands significantly enhances the company's ability to serve consumers with a broad variety of the world's highest-quality content and to create additional long-term value for our shareholders.

The Boards of Directors of Disney and Lucasfilm have approved the transaction, which is subject to clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, certain non-United States merger control regulations, and other customary closing conditions. The agreement has been approved by the sole shareholder of Lucasfilm.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Who's ready to venture back to Middle-Earth?

Nine years after "The Return of the King" closed out the epic "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy -- and won 11 Oscars -- director Peter Jackson is bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's earlier book, "The Hobbit," to the big screen.  And in the just-released trailer for the first installment of this new trilogy, entitled "An Unexpected Journey," we see a host of new characters along with some familiar faces. And, most notably, it shows the return of Gollum.

Once again played by Andy Serkis via performance capture technology, Gollum is seen in the trailer making a wager with the young Bilbo Baggins (played by "Sherlock" star Martin Freeman, taking on the role originated by Ian Holm in the first trilogy).  In the story, Bilbo gets lost in the caves where Gollum resides.  Gollum agrees to help him find his way out, but only if Bilbo can beat him in a game of riddles. "If Baggins loses," Gollum says in the trailer, "we eats it whole."

In the book, Bilbo finally stumps Gollum with the riddle, "What have I got in my pocket?" Gollum guesses wrong, and shows Bilbo the way out of his cave. Gollum never guesses that the answer to the question is a golden ring Bilbo found in the cave -- yes, that ring.  The One Ring which Bilbo later passes on to his nephew Frodo so that he can destroy it in the fires of Mount Doom.

Gollum's not the only returning cast member from the first "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.  Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf the Grey, the friendly wizard who recruits Bilbo to join a band of thirteen dwarves on their quest.  This new trailer also gives us good looks at Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving reprising their roles as the elves Galadriel and Elrond.  But there's still no sight of Orlando Bloom, who will be back as the blond archer Legolas.

If you want to see a bit more of Gollum, the movie's official site has four alternate endings for the trailer. The one featuring Gollum shows more of his introduction to Bilbo, with the Hobbit getting his first look at the creature's split personality. Gollum tells Bilbo, "We knows safe paths for Hobbitses. Safe paths in the dark." Then he blurts out "Shut up!" A surprised Bilbo says, "I didn't say anything," and Gollum snarls back, "We wasn't talking to you."

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," the first of the three new movies, will open on December 14. This is a must see!!!

RoboCop Reboot

Part man. Part machine. All cop. New look.

Filming on the remake of the much-beloved 1987 sci-fi action flick "RoboCop" recently began in Toronto, and ComingSoon.net grabbed the first photos of the updated costume for the cyborg crimefighter. The bulky, chrome look of the original has been replaced by a trimmed-down silhouette with a black matte finish. It does have a helmet that is open only at the mouth like the first suit, but this one also leaves his right hand exposed.
That's Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman (TV's "The Killing") inside the costume as Alex Murphy, a gunned-down Detroit police officer reborn as an unstoppable robotic force for justice.  This will be the American debut for director José Padilla, who previously made the acclaimed "Elite Squad" films in his native Brazil. The remake also stars Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton.

Like Peter Weller, who played the character in the first film, Kinnaman is tall and lanky, which is important so that when he's inside the suit it doesn't appear too cumbersome or unwieldy. Reportedly, Arnold Schwarzenegger was originally considered to play the role the first time around, but his size would have made moving in the suit impossible.  Schwarzenegger later teamed up with "RoboCop" director Paul Verhoeven for "Total Recall," which also got a recent remake.

The suit in the original took designer Rob Bottin ten months to construct at a cost of nearly $1 million (the budget for the entire film was only around $13 million).  There were actually multiple versions of the costume made, with some painted to look damaged after the climactic battle scene.  Weller said it got so hot in the suit he lost upwards of three pounds a day just from sweating.
Fan reaction to the new suit has been mixed, with some Internet commenters saying he looks more like Christian Bale's Batman than RoboCop.  Perhaps the filmmakers felt like "Iron Man" has captured the market on shiny robotic suits, so they decided to make it less reflective.  Also, online reviews of early drafts of the script suggest RoboCop goes through several different upgrades through the film, so this might not be the final iteration of his new look.

We'll see just how well this new "RoboCop" can serve the public trust, protect the innocent, and uphold the law when it hits theaters on August 9, 2013.

Man of Steel

Superman returns to the big screen in the summer of 2013 with the "Man of Steel". Yeah forget about the whole Superman Returns directed by Bryan Singer a few years ago. I personally loved the movie but the critics didn't. This time around, the movie is directed by Zack Snyder, famously known as the man behind 300 and Watchmen. Personally, I don't like Watchmen cause it was so slow and I didn't watch 300 cause it was too CGI. Although I read some reviews, they said it was a very good movie. For me, too much CGI in a movie, doesn't have the appeal. I think the movie was like 95% CGI.

Okay, back to the Man of Steel, Zack Snyder also helmed another CGI movie called Sucker Punch last year. Yeah with all those ass kicking chicks. Bet most of you remember that (I mean the guys). It didn't get a very good response, so people are worried about him directing a Superman movie. The studios decided to bring in Christopher Nolan (yes!!!) as the producer for the movie. That definitely calmed the fans as everybody knows how good Nolan's movies are. Most recently for concluding the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises.

I've seen most of Nolan's movies and his movies, never stop impresses me. You all have to watch The Prestige or Inception to name a few. Your minds will be blown away. I'm sure of that. He takes you in a journey and want viewers to understand the plots. Even in movie trailers he will leave the viewers wanting more. Check out the Man of Steel trailer released a few weeks ago. It has Nolan's brilliant mind written all over it. Enjoy.

The Amazing Spider-Man Premiere Special

Here's an exclusive premiere event for The Amazing Spider-Man movie. It has great interviews and new snippets as well. Enjoy the premiere special folks!!!

Monsters University

A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear -- when they weren't necessarily the best of friends. This is a must watch!!!

The Amazing Spider-Man

I was a bit skeptical about Marvel doing a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise but it kind of grew on me that this has a different take into the life of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy (yeah, no Mary Jane). Here's a bit of a summary of the upcoming reboot.

Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner.

2011 Is Coming To An End

Just few more days left of 2011. How's the year been so far for you folks out there? Has it been good, just okay or pretty bad? Well, a new year is fast approaching us and let's hope we fulfill our New Year's Resolution (or not). Hahaha...

I'm actually looking forward to 2012. I'm making it another year of traveling. Planning for some trips already too. I'll share more insights soon. Hehehe... I hope 2012 will have a good start for me too (in terms of work). Need to break the egg.

Oh, here's a clip for the upcoming movies of 2012 I came across earlier.

Dark Knight Rises

Gotta say, this has got to be the most anticipated movie of 2012. Can Nolan upstage his Dark Knight triumph earlier? I bet he can. Oh, and if some of you wanna have a snippet of more Dark Knight Rises, head on to YouTube and type in the word "Dark Knight Rises Prologue".

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

Another movie I'm looking forward to watch. The first movie was good and I enjoyed it. Perhap this time around it'll be a bit darker.

The Expandables 2

Now this is a bad a** action movie with old skool action heroes. This should be a real good all out action movie.

Men In Black 3

Agent J and Agent K returns for another Men In Black movie. This should be fun. More comedic performance from Will Smith then.

G.I. Joe Retaliation

Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum is steadying the ship for the G.I. Joe franchise. Looks pretty decent too. Lady Jaye and Jinx looks yummy. Hahaha...

The Amazing Spider Man

A reboot from the successful Sam Raimi's trilogy. Let's hope it does well too cause it looks pretty good. I do hope they take us to a ride in Spidey's eyes. That would be awesome.

The Avengers

Perhaps, the greatest superhero team? A great team assembled here, no doubt about that. And my, Loki looks really pissed huh?

Movie Update : Real Steel

Have you lads heard about Real Steel movie starring Hugh Jackman? I've seen a couple of snippets from the movie. Gotta say, it kinda made me interested to go and watch the movie. It'll be out next week in the US. Hopefully will be out the same time here in Malaysia as well. So far, the critics praised he movie. Plenty of action too. Okay it might be weird seeing robot box but hey, it's fun to watch ain't it? Here's a few trailers and the last video features an interview with the man himself, Hugh Jackman.

Johnny English Reborn

Bet some of you have watched Johnny English Reborn. What are your thoughts on the movie? Good? Bad? Just okay? Well, here's my thought about the movie...
MOVIE OF THE YEAR!!!

I have never laughed that much while watching any movie in my entire life. Seriously it was packed with laughter and Johnny English outplayed Mr Bean's comedies. Gotta admit that Rowan Atkinson is getting older but his antics never seem to let fans down. This is by far the best comedic performace by him and definitely by miles away the best. The laughter starts before the movie even started. Not gonna ruin it for those of you haven't watch it. Oh by the way, I'm watching it again tomorrow. Haha...

One more highlight of the movie was his co-star Rosamund Pike. Hot, blonde and British. What more can I say. HaAaAaAa...

Movie rating: 11/10??? HELL YEAH!!!

ComicBookMovie Updates!!!

Not sure bout u folks, but I'm a huge fan of comic books. I read 'em when I was a young kid and now most of the character have been brought up to life in the movies. Some were successful and some weren't. This year we're seen plenty of comic book adaptations. Although I haven't been able to watch Green Lantern and Captain America, the reviews were just so-so. I guess those 2 movies didn't excite me that much to watch 'em on the big screen.

I'm always eager to find the latest update on new comic book adaptation, trailers, spoilers etc. on the internet. Few years ago I came across a website with tons of infos that I've been looking for. I definitely encourage you folks to visit this website from Comic Book Movie . It's even on my fave's site tab on the right hand of the screen.

With that, here's a video on the IGN 2011 Summer Movie Awards.

Here's another 3 more video's from Nike, where they're gonna release the shoes that made famous by Marty McFly in Back to the Future Trilogy some years ago. In the Part II trilogy, he got the shoes back in 2015 and was given by his best friend, Doctor Emmet L Brown (famously known as Doc), Check out this cool promo. I've also added a trailer including Kevin Durant (NBA Player) and famous comedian Bill Hader promoting the shoe. And I'm definitely getting my hands in one of 'em. Nice kicks man!!!
