WWE 2011 Annual Draft

This morning, while sitting in my office doing some work (liar!!!), I kept on checking the latest updates on WWE's 2011 Annual Draft. Three major WWE Superstars were traded early on. John Cena returns to SmackDown where he began his career, joined by The Viper Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio is off to Raw. At this early stage of Raw, anything can happen. I guess SmackDown needed a lot of injection after Edge's sudden retirement. Great acquisition for SmackDown though.

Now, it's seems like Raw is being robbed by SmackDown (according to WWE Diva Eve Torres, which I totally agree). Mark Henry and Sin Cara is joining Cena and Orton at Smackdown, while Big Show and Alberto del Rio is going to Raw. Huge loss to Raw basically. Can't believe Cena and Orton will be at SmackDown. Guess they needed more time with their families (can't blame them). Raw is losing its excitement and probably I ain't gonna watch much Raw from now on. Sigh...

Okay, the final match winner on Raw tonight will get a random draft pick. Who's it gonna be? Will it be Raw or SmackDown that gets the pick? Raw Superstars wins the match!!! Which Superstar is it gonna be??? And the random draft pick is ...
JOHN CENA!!!

2011 Movies!!!

One of my most anticipated movies of 2011 has got to be Transformers: Dark of The Moon. When it was announced that they were going go make a real life Transformers movie not so long ago, I was so excited to see what it will look like in real life movies. Man, I wasn't disappointed at all. I even took a day off just to see the premier of Transformers back in 2007. Again I took a day off for Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen in 2009. I don't care what people might say/critic about the second movie. I loved it too. It really showed how powerful a Prime was. In this case, Optimus Prime. It took 3 Decepticons to put Optimus down. It seems like I'm gonna take another day off just to watch the Transformers: Dark of The Moon. Enjoy some of the trailers folks!!!

The guys from Linkin Park just added this new video to thier website LINKINPARK.com that shows some footage from the film as well as a cool discussions with Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) and Steve Jablonsky (Film composer). For those Linkin Park fans out there this makes Linkin Park 3 for 3 on the Transformers movies.

Transformers 2: New Divie

Transformers 3: Iridescent

Thank You Edge - Post SmackDown Show

I've finally found these 2 videos on YouTube. The 2 videos below are from the post SmackDown show on 15th April 2011. It was an emotional goodbye from then
World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. He received a thuderous applause not only from the
WWE Universe, but also from his colleagues.

I would have to say that the WWE handled his retirement really well. They allowed him to say his goodbyes on his terms. No script needed. No boring storyline needed. That's how good Edge was. It's great to know also that his one time real life nemesis, Matt Hardy, wished him well. Here's what Matt had to say: "Heard Adam is retiring because of physical issues that won't allow him to safely continue wrestling. He'll be missed. We've certainly had our fair share of issues. Both good and bad. But I tip my hat to Edge who is one of the greatest I've been in the ring with. Adam resides in NC now, sure I'll run into him down the road. Glad that him and I are in a good place. We came in as friends and we went out that way".

I'm just waiting for the Hall of Fame to be Rated R. 2012 perhaps??? Or WWE would want to honour Edge when Wrestlemania returns to Toronto, Canada, his hometown. Whatever happens, he'll definitely be in the Hall of Fame. Enjoy the videos folks.
Thank You Edge!!!

Thank You Edge!!!

Last week during Raw on 11th April 2011, marked the end of the road for one of the most decorated WWE Superstar of all time, Edge, real name Adam Copeland. He was forced to retire from all active ring bouts due to injuries. He broke his neck few years ago where he was actually wrestling on borrowed time. He started feeling numbness in his arms and losing feeling in them as well. Although he was cleared to feature in Wrestlemania XXVII in Atlanta, Georgia, that was his curtain call. A truly great performer, who gave his all to the WWE Universe and deserves all the respect and retired as an Eleven time WWE/World Heavyweight Champion.

His spine had suffered too much damage, and he would never be medically cleared to compete again. It was a sudden announcement. Up till that night, he was still scheduled to face Alberto Del Rio in a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules. But there it was. The career of one of the greatest Superstars in WWE history was over.

In an emotional farewell on the 15th April edition of SmackDown, Edge said his final goodbyes. The entire locker room came out to pay tribute to one of the most decorated WWE Champions in WWE history. In total, he would carry 31 titles in WWE – the most out of any Superstar in history!!! Whatever happens, there’s only one thing left to say: Thank You Edge!!!

Goalkeeping Blunders

In light of the latest in a line of unpredicted errors, I bring you 7 significant goalkeeping howlers in recent memories.

Liverpool big man, Pepe Reina is known for his superb reflexes between the posts, but in the opening weekend of the new English premier League season, one effort spoilt his otherwise fantastic record.

The Spaniard fumbled Marouane Chamakh's cross, allowing the ball to bounce off him and into the net, giving Arsenal an unlikely equaliser in the 90th minute.

As great a goalkeeper as Fabian Barthez was, he had his fair share of mistakes. Playing for Man Utd against Arsenal in 2001, the French keeper made two crucial blunders that put the Gunners ahead in an otherwise equal match.

First, he sent a clearance straight to the feet of a surprised but composed Thierry Henry, who slotted home comfortably to put Arsenal in the lead. Then, he fumbled a simple gather which allowed Henry an easy second.

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson made the most basic of errors in Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia when he missed while clearing Gary Neville's back pass.

The unfortunate ball ended up in England's net for an own goal, and Robinson never quite made it backp up the goalkeeping ladder after that.

THE BEST OF THEM ALL; Man Utd fans will SURELY remember Massimo Taibi as the worst goalkeeper ever to grace  Old Trafford, despite a relatively successful career in his native Italy.

Famous for inexplicably letting in shots through his legs, he did it again when he let a tame Matt Le Tissier effort through in similar fashion against Southampton. 3 games, 10 goals conceded. He was HISTORY!!!

England's pre-mature exit at the recent South Africa 2010 World Cup was a result of many factors, but none more significant than Robert Green's howler in the opening match against the USA, when he mishandled a shot from Clint Dempsey to allow the Americans to draw level.

We all know what happened after that, right??? Tata England. Hahaha

Wojciech Szczesny. What more can I say 'bout the goalkeeping blunders from all Arsenal keepers after Jens Lehman left? One after another. The third choice became first team regular and his howler came at a very heavy price. The Carling Cup 2011 Final against Birmingham City.

All Arsenal needed to do was to hold on for few more minutes to go into extra time. Both teams were at 1-1 but on the 90th minute, Szczesny decided to "announce his arrival". A miscommunication between Laurent Koscielny led him to lose the ball possession into the path of Obafemi Martins who passed the ball into an empty net. Poor Arsenal. GO BUY A NEW KEEPER!!! SPEND!!! DON'T BE A CHEAPO!!!

DOH'-Mes (just like Homer Simpson says it). Just another howler from the Brazilian keeper. It was with Nani at the early period of the current season. Now at the most crucial time, 2nd leg of last 8, Real Madrid. Although there was no chance for Spurs to progress after a 4-0 mauling in the first leg.

Ronaldo unleashed a shot from 25 yards while on the run and the Brazilian couldn't handle the shot. I guess when you're Cristiano Ronaldo and on hot form, when you're hot, you're just hot.

Til next time folks!!! See ya!!!

How Little Pea Emerged To Put the Big Buys In The Shade

How difficult is it to buy a striker that scores goals? On recent evidence, Chelsea and Manchester City will argue it is almost impossible after spending £100million between them on three duds.
In 2011, Fernando Torres, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko have scored just one Barclays Premier League goal between them – a very ropey return. So, is the art of buying a decent striker dead?

You only have to look at Manchester United’s relatively low-key £6m signing of Javier Hernandez to get a quick answer to that question.

After scoring in another matured performance in Tuesday night’s Champions League win against Chelsea, Hernandez has proved to be a revelation.
The Mexican was a surprise signing last summer from Chivas of Guadalajara and after a solid start, has come on in leaps and bounds.
Not since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has such an unknown taken Old Trafford by storm, and the scary thing is Chicharito - or Little Pea, as he is also affectionately known - is only going to get better.
Football runs in the Hernandez family. His father (also called Javier) was part of Mexico’s squad for the 1986 World Cup, while his granddad Tomas Balcazar scored against France in the 1954 tournament.
The French, therefore, should have seen it coming in South Africa last year when Hernandez came off the bench to score his first competitive international goal against them – before doubling his tally later in in the World Cup in the defeat to Argentina.
The tournament was a personal success for the 22-year-old, who had held his own on the biggest stage of all. Sir Alex Ferguson would have been glad he saved a few million pounds having signed him before his summer exploits.
After arriving into a vastly different culture, It would have been fair to expect him to play a more supporting role at Old Trafford following his move from Central America. Many would have gave him the season to settle in.

But his impact has been so strong he has even forced the club’s top scorer Dimitar Berbatov out of the side. The Bulgarian has not a bad season but the partnership Hernandez has formed with Wayne Rooney has been too strong to break up.
It’s hard to think of any previous occasion the Premier League’s top scorer has been dropped to make way for an up and coming youngster – it’s not a decision a manager of Fergie’s experience would make lightly.
Responsibility would have played a big part in his choice to fast track Hernandez, who aside from showing his potential on the pitch has shown a level head off it.

Many players his age and even slightly older are often seen in a negative fashion, whether it be stumbling out of night clubs at 2am, getting involved in a bar brawl or throwing darts at youth team players.
None of this excess baggage comes with Hernandez. He doesn’t drink, is a devout Catholic and is set to marry his long-term girlfriend.
Considering he is suddenly earning the big bucks at one of the world’s biggest clubs (that has turned him into a national hero in Mexico), it is remarkable how he has taken it all in his stride and kept his feet on the ground.
Hernandez ticks all the Fergie boxes, and with experienced figures like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs in the dressing room, he is in good hands.
So what of his talent? His two-goal match winning performance at Stoke back in October contained improvisation at its finest. His flick-back header was not only incredible for its technique, but it showed that even at 5ft 7in, heading the ball is not an issue.

Hernandez has displayed no outstanding weakness this season. He has been lethal at beating offside traps, is accurate in front of goal (using both feet and head), he’s fast, determined and makes just as bigger impact as a sub than when he starts.
And he isn’t one to waste his opportunities either. After Tuesday’s opener against Chelsea, he took his season tally to 15 goals from just 22 shots on target in the Premier League and Champions League. You will be hard pressed to find a better record.
Regardless of whether United win the treble or end up potless, ‘Little Pea’ will go down as one of the signings of the season. His nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year is more than merited, and there can be no complaints should he win the award.
But where next? Next season will be a much tougher campaign for him. He has been an unknown quantity this term but managers should now form more aggressive defensive plans to shackle the striker.
Other than being considered more of a threat though, there is no stopping Hernandez from continuing his sharp spike upwards and becoming one of the first names on the United teamsheet. He has the talent, the right club, the right manager, the right influences around him and crucially the right attitude.
Chelsea and Manchester City may come out winners in a bidding war for a striker, but it’s United who take the star prize with the considerably cheaper and magnificent Mexican.

Back From A Short Break

Hello peeps!!! I'm back after a month off from blogging. Grew tired of it after
Bandung 2011. Just wanted to take a break and focus on my work.
Going thru a busy period since most companies end their financial year between
March - May. Now is the time for all to look for opportunities, especially after getting their bonuses. Ask 'em out for lunch or dinner!!!

It's already April. The greatest month of all!!! Why??? Cause it's MY birthday!!! Huhu.. Although, haven't been celebrating it for years I tell ya. If there's a dinner or cake, it'll mostly be for my nieces and nephews. Nothing much. I'm used to it I guess.
Pretty sad isn't it? Oh well, I'm C.O.O.L. with it. Haha..

Today my office had birthday lunch with our Boss, who is flying back to New Zealand after 2 weeks in Malaysia. He's been generous enough to take us all for birthday lunch. Another colleague of mine is celebrating her birthday in April too!!! Only 2 days later than mine. We went to Saisaki Japanese Buffet Restaurant at Wisma UOA, Jalan Pinang.
Food was tremendous. All you can eat. It's actually a mix of sushi and fusion foods.
It's suitable for non-sushi lovers as well. Plenty of food y'all.
